Welcome to Goal IQ

We’re proud to launch Goal IQ, a soccer analytics company built to help players, parents, and coaches unlock their full potential. Soccer is a game of decisions, and we believe smarter decisions come from better data.

At Goal IQ, our mission is simple: turn the data from games, GPS trackers, video, and personal assessments into clear, actionable insights that drive player development.

What We Do

The modern game is overflowing with information—tracking numbers, match stats, clips, and fitness data—but most of it never gets translated into meaningful action for the athlete. That’s where Goal IQ comes in.

We take raw data and deliver:

  • Individual Development Plans (IDPs): Personalized roadmaps for each player.

  • Scouting Reports: Detailed breakdowns of performance in games and training.

  • Improvement Tracking: Monitoring growth across technical, tactical, physical, and mental areas.

  • Nutrition & Fueling Plans: Science-based strategies for energy, recovery, and peak performance.

  • Game Management Support: Tools to help teams make better decisions on and off the field.

It’s not just about numbers—it’s about giving athletes and coaches the clarity and confidence to take the next step.

Who We Are

Dan Carpenter – Strategy & Data Execution

Dan is a seasoned senior executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience at UnityPoint Health, where he served as Chief Strategy Officer, CFO, and Senior VP of Business Optimization. His career has focused on using data to drive outcomes, building systems that measure what matters, and helping organizations thrive.

With degrees in Finance (University of Iowa) and an MBA from St. Ambrose, Dan knows how to take complex information and turn it into clear, actionable strategies—a skill set perfectly aligned with soccer analytics and player development.

TJ Tollakson – High Performance & Innovation

As a professional triathlete, Ironman champion, and founder of Dimond Bikes and Red Crown Cycling, I’ve spent my life turning performance data into results. Competing on the world stage taught me how to use analytics to find every marginal gain, while building businesses gave me the experience to create tools athletes can trust.

Off the racecourse, my foundation is in engineering and entrepreneurship. I earned a BBS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa, along with a Technological Entrepreneurship Certificate from the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center. That blend of analytical rigor and innovative mindset drives everything I do—including building Goal IQ.

Together, Dan and I combine expertise from data strategy and high performance sport to deliver a platform built for the modern soccer environment.

This blog will be where we share:

  • Insights on using analytics to shape training and development.
